5 Star Review from Brighton Journal
We rarely get reviews these days - after 16 years of Bogan Bingo in the UK and 10 of those in Brighton, we’re not exactly the new show on the block. But when we get them, we’re always really humbled that someone has taken the time to come along to the show and then write about it!
Here’s a recent one from Brighton Journal…
★★★★★ “If you’re up for something brilliantly bonkers, this is it.”
Bogan Bingo bottomless brunch at Komedia combines tasty food, free flowing drinks and a riot of Aussie humour, throwing decorum out the door and replacing it with wigs, loud shirts and a whole lot of laughter.
The 90-minute bottomless drinks slot offers a decent selection. From Mimosas and Bloody Marys to house beer, cider and spirits, there’s plenty to keep everyone fuelled for the fun ahead. Service is warm and upbeat, though there were moments when we found ourselves eyeing up empty glasses for a bit too long.
Food-wise, you’re in for a treat. We opted for the breakfast burger, which landed on the table stacked high with a pork patty, bacon, fried egg, ketchup and crisp hashbrowns, all tucked into a pretzel bun. Vegan and veggie choices are also available.
The main attraction is Bogan Bingo. It’s bingo but not as you know it. Hosted by two Aussie lads with mullets and questionable fashion sense, the event is part game, part comedy and part musical mayhem. Think crude jokes, spontaneous dance-offs and a lot of audience participation. The energy is infectious and audience totally lap it up.
Winners walked away with gloriously daft prizes, including photos of pigs and cans of Foster. It was all part of the fun. There were also plenty cheeky nods to Australian icons like Kylie, Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe, all very tongue in cheek.
Once the bingo finishes, the party rolls on with a DJ set full of 80s and 90s anthems. At one point, the crowd began line dancing and not long after, a full-blown conga line snaked its way through the venue.
Bogan Bingo bottomless brunch is chaotic, loud and unpretentious. If you’re up for something brilliantly bonkers, this is it.
